GODS ARMY DANCE GROUP: UGANDA'S FINEST

This is a group of young people taking the ugandan, and recently, the East African music scene by storm and they are known as God's army. The dance group is made up of fifteen young women and men who are very talented in music and dance. I personally remember watching this group at Uhuru Park during the Nuru Gizani crusades and wow, they are just the bomb. Their dances are filled with energy, charisma and off course the annointing, for sure they are awesome. They recently featured at the Hot Steps Competition recently held at hotel Africana in Uganda. But it has not been very easy for this young energetic souls. The group is made up of young adults who were orphaned at a very young age and thus struggled for many years. The groups founder Jimmy Kwoba, while at Jinja, identified this group of young men and women and thought that they could wave a career out of dance while reaching souls for christ. That is how Gods Army was formed and this was back in 2003. In 2005, they decided to move to Kampala, Uganda where they set up a base at the Holy Ghost Powering Center, and since then the sky has been the limit. For instance, this is the only group that curtain raised for Kirk Franklin and Papa San while they toured Uganda. The group has just finalised working their debut album entitled "Talimba".The group’s moves don’t just come on a silver platter. They train vigorously daily, something easier said than done because of the fact that they live together therefore cannot escape the watchful eye of the group director.
